Car tracking devices in the UK are on the most part used for one of two reasons. In many cases for both of the reasons we are about to elaborate on.

The first reason is for security. This need for security is brought to us by the ever growing organised crime in buying and selling stolen motor vehicles. Most of the cars that are targeted by this type of organised crime are expensive luxury or sports cars.

Therefore with this problem growing rather than getting smaller, insurance companies are now insisting that owners of expensive cars have to have anti theft tracking installed.

As we discussed in yesterdays blog post, car hire companies are also looking to use anti theft tracking as a large number of their vehicles do not get returned and it is costing them dearly.

The second reason for having car tracking devices in the UK is to help businesses run more efficiently. Car tracking devices can save UK businesses a fortune in fuel, overtime claims and wasted work hours over the period of a year or for some businesses the savings can be noticed within just a month or two. These are the two main reasons for using tracking devices.
