A very useful feature of GPS vehicle tracking systems is the congestion zone entry warning. As the name suggests this useful little extra tells you when your one of your vehicles enters the congestion zone.
You may ask your self do you really need this extra. Well it is not particularly useful for fleets of vehicles in the middle of Wales, but for companies that send their cars and vans to London on a frequent basis is can be a very useful gadget.
Many companies spend fair few bob in fines each year because managers do not realise their vehicles have entered the congestion charge zone. This can happen for several reasons the driver may not have realised he even entered the zone or maybe he only went into the congestion zone briefly and sometimes the drivers may just forget or if they are an agency driver may not realise that they have to let their manager know that they went into the congestion zone.
Whatever the reason it is best that the manager is aware that they need to pay the charge rather than get a fine.
This feature is not a reason to get vehicle tracking on its own but it is a good extra to have if you are getting tracking installed.
It is said that other cities in the UK intend to introduce a congestion zone. With this in mind I think that this feature will become popular.
