Council Vehicle Tracking

Councils often use GPS vehicle tracking systems to track their fleet of vehicles. They usually have large fleets of vehicles and the public sector is renowned for wastage. Vehicle tracking can help cut down on wastage.

There are various types of wastage. The first is type is the wastage is time. This is in the form of staff doing other tasks in work hours. These vary from going home when they should be working, stopping off for unauthorised breaks, going slower that they should and putting in phony over time claims. These can all be eradicated with the use of GPS vehicle tracking.

Other forms of wastage include fuel consumption and unnecessary ware and tear on the vehicles. Fuel consumption can be lowered using GPS vehicle tracking systems by monitoring how the staff drive, the routes they take to carry out their daily tasks and unauthorised use of council vehicles.

By using vehicle tracking you can save vast amounts of tax payer’s money and in turn this can help to keep council tax down. Council tax price increases have long been a problem and if vehicle tracking can help to keep the increases to a minimum, surely this is a good thing.
