Local Council Get Vehicle Tracking To Help Save Money

Some local council’s can have 400 – 500 vehicle fleets, these vehicles you will see when traveling around. They are used for assisting the council tidy streets or clear public areas. Council’s do not have any way of seeing where their fleets are at any given time. This is the reason that council’s are now looking at vehicle tracking systems.

Birmingham City Council have started to use CMS SupaTrak in their fleets of vehicles in order for them to assist in saving money in the long run. It seems that Birmingham City are also sampling the EcoTrak. EcoTrak is a fuel saving technology which has been developed by CMS SupaTrak, this system is demonstrating a fuel cost saving of approximately £1,700 per annum, per vehicle. The EcoTrack system is designed to report on the driver/vehicles on the selected concerns such as engine load, idling time, miles per gallon and revs per minute.

This is not just good news for the local councils and them being able to save money, it is also good news for the taxpayer, as if the council’s are making huge savings then local council tax bills should be lower or the money can be used to fund other projects throughout your town or village.

So, local council’s are now taking on vehicle tracking systems, who else will be?
