Minorplanet are one of the older vehicle tracking companies in the UK and a fairly big player in the business, but the Yorkshire based firm have hit problems. It’s old news that Minorplanet are on a rocky road, but it has come to a head now as they are in the red.
They blame it on the recession and lease deals being thing on the ground. Many other vehicle tracking companies have hit similar problems, but have managed to deal with them. One of the biggest solutions the many of the bigger players have come up with is to offer pay as you go vehicle tracking. This gets over the problem of leases and makes it more attractive to companies who are looking to tighten their belts but are still interested in getting vehicle tracking installed in their fleet of vehicles.
The company now shows signs of increasing sales and has done this by focusing its efforts on winning contracts from larger companies. The CEO of Minorplanet says that this strategy is starting to work.
Vehicle tracking companies have a turbulent year or two, but companies many of the big players continue to do well regardless of the financial climate.
