Un-agreed Price Increases For Minorplanet Customers
Ctrack took over Minorplanet back in 2010. Well to be exact they did not exactly take over Minorplanet. What they did is take over there intellectual property and customers, but not their liabilities.
What does this mean in reality for the customers of Minorplanet? It means their tracking service will be provided by Ctrack, but Ctrack are not obligated to keep to the agreement originally made by the customer and Minorplanet. In other words Ctrack can put the prices up and if the customer does not like it they will terminate their service.
You may say this is fine for the customer, as from their end they are no longer in the contract and they can go else where to get a tracking system. The problem is if they purchased the tracking system via a lease company, they are obligated to keep up payments to the lease company. The agreement with the lease company is separate.
From customers I have spoken to they are not entirely sure what the price increase will be and if it is not too high it will not be a major problem. Of course there would not be a problem at all if these customers were on pay as you go tracking agreements.
