Vehicle Theft Rates Tumble Due To GPS Vehicle Tracking Devices
For anybody who has ever experienced the theft of their vehicle they will know the chances of your car being returned to you are slim, and even if it is returned it’s unlikely to be in a very poor state. With the advent of GPS tracking in recent year’s vehicles which are stolen are highly likely to be found quickly an d undamaged.
Thieves who break into cars are very aware of alarms and immobilizers and how to disable them quickly. Thieves who steal your vehicle are highly unlikely to realize a tracking device has been installed; and even if they tried searching for it are unlikely to find it, as they are so small and are usually fitted behind a piece of plastic trim within the car.
If you do have a GPS tracking device installed and your car happens to be stolen, you can contact the police who then will be able to track your vehicle in real-time. The police are likely to follow the movements on screen within the police car; this in turn allows them to radio ahead to other police cars, which in turn allows them to set up a road block. The safe return of a car to an owner is vindication of having a GPS device installed.
