An arrest has been made in Johannesburg, South Africa after a car was hijacked from a motorist at a petrol station in Boksburg.

The Police constable confirmed that a man driving an Audi Q5 was stopped at a petrol station on Wednesday 1st July. The motorist was waiting for the petrol attendant to return his change when two men pulled up in their Black Golf and waved a gun in the motorist face, demanding the silver car.

Unfortunately for the hijackers, the car was fitted with a vehicle tracking system so the police were able to locate the vehicle almost immediately and go on to arrest one of the thieves.

Without the vehicle tracking system in place the brand new Audi, which was due to be delivered the next day, may not have ever been recovered.

As you can see from the above, by using vehicle tracking systems many more thieves are facing arrest and justice is being made. This is increasing the amount of vehicles that are being recovered and cases being closed. This also minimises the claims that are being made to insurance companies and generally saving precious time for police and those that the vehicle belong too. A big thumbs up for vehicle tracking assisting in solving crime.
