Vehicle Tracking, For or Against?

GPS vehicle tracking systems have many advantages, but many people feel that they are all part of the modern world and technology gaining greater control of the masses. CCTV now covers our nations towns and city centres. Now GPS vehicle tracking systems are starting to take hold. Well this is the opinion of many people who now have work vehicles that now have vehicle tracking systems installed in them.

The UK government has made suggestions about tracking all UK vehicles. They say it will help them stop people avoiding paying car tax, car insurance and driving a car without an MOT. But they also mention that they would like to tax people for driving at particular times of the day or driving on particular roads. This is a distinct possibility as it would not be the first time technology has been used to tax us. Congestion zones are policed by cameras that detect your number plates. Speed cameras do not only detect speeding offences, but also detect number plates to check your vehicles has road tax etc.

The flip side of the argument is that if you have nothing to hide then you have nothing to be concerned about regarding vehicle tracking. Not only this, but it can make you safer when working alone and help you to do your job more effectively and make your job easier.

There are merits to both sides of the argument. What do you think? Please give your comments.
