There are many instances where vehicle tracking systems can help to cut crime. Car theft is an international industry now, with cars being stolen and shipped all around the world. For this reason most expensive cars are now fitted with vehicle tracking as standard.

Often stolen cars are sold to criminals who are involved in other types of crime. For example, a CLK that was stolen recently was found thanks to the tracking system the car had on board. The Police found in the Merc a high quantity and variety of class A drugs.

Parked next to the car they were tracking was another expensive Mercedes. The police also searched this vehicle and found a large amount of drugs.

It was believed that the car theft is related to a large scale class A drug operation.

The merc involved in this story was returned back to the owner. This saved both the owner and the insurance company a lot of time and money.

This is just one example of where vehicle tracking can help to cut down on not only car crime, but all sorts of crime and in particular could help in the fight against organised crime.

The technology behind GPS tracking systems can be used to help all sorts of situations and it’s uses are only limited by our imagination.
