Vehicle Tracking Now Being Used In Road Sweepers

Now vehicle tracking systems are being used on road sweepers and all their waste management vehicles in Sharjah. This is yet another innovative use of GPS vehicle tracking. The tracking systems will help to cut down on costs of running the road sweepers and the carbon foot print.

When I say road sweepers I am not just talking about large vehicles that go along the side of the road I am also talking about the large number of smaller vehicles which sweep foot paths and pedestrian areas such as parks.

The extension of using GPS vehicle tracking systems to track smaller utility vehicles is a growing trend and has been seen in Europe and Asia.

The benefits are much the same as tracking any fleet of vehicles. Lower costs on fuel, wages, false over time claims and many other savings which we have mentioned on this blog before.

When you hear stories such as this you realise that vehicle tracking is taking off in a big way. Many feel that it may be going too far and that privacy is at risk of being infringed upon. Others feel that it will help to make mobile operations much more efficient in an ever more busy world and that this can only be a good thing.
