Here at VehicleTrackingSystems.org.uk we are always promoting the savings companies can make from vehicle tracking and how it can save you company money in this way and that way. What some say is this is all well and good, but will it really save me that much money? How much exactly will it save me? Well I can’t tell you how much exactly vehicle tracking will save any one company, but I can give you a great example of a company that has saved money, how they saved it and how much they saved.
A company called Midland Door Services said they saved £60,000 a year. The two main areas where they save money were over time and fuel.
Let’s start with over time first. The managing director of Midland Door Services said that it is very common for engineers to over estimate how long a job will take. Once tracking was installed the management were able to ascertain exactly how long it took an engineer to do a job. This removed over estimating of jobs and therefore cut down dramatically on overtime. Midland Door Services estimated they saved around £28,000 a year.
They also estimated that they saved a further £31,000 a year in fuel due to the tracking. Now the engineers were no longer using the vehicles out of work time for personal use.
This is a great real life example of real savings that have been made rather than superlatives.
