Many cars come fitted with car alarms which are obviously used to help deter thieves. The loud alarm that rings when a vehicle is being stolen alerts the owners that something is wrong, but what happens after the car is driven away?
Vehicle tracking systems can be a better alternative to a car alarm, although the vehicle tracking system does not alert the owners that there is a problem they do assist the police in tracking the vehicle and hopefully helping the owners get there car back.
Some tracking systems are clever in that they may even notice that the vehicle is stolen before the owners themselves do. The tracking system may be able to alert the owner via email if it feels as though the vehicle is being tampered with. i.e. smashed windows, forced doors etc. Allowing the police to respond and retrieve than a non tracked vehicle.
If a tracking system does not have an alarm attached then how does the Thief know that a tracking system is fitted? Well, it could just be a sticker in the car window stating that the car if fitted with a tracking device. Thieves are clever, they know that they are more likely to get caught if the vehicle is fitted with a tracking device and will tend to steer clear.
